About the Ben Faigin Music Opportunity Fund

The Ben Faigin Music Opportunity Fund was established by his family and friends to provide young musicians, like Ben, with support for classical music training.

Ben Faigin was a gifted and passionate musician who left this world too young. Ben began his classical training in cello at age 9, played in orchestras from elementary through high school, and was especially inspired by his time playing in chamber music quartets.

Northwest Sinfonietta is grateful to the Ben Faigin Music Opportunity Fund for supporting our Pro Lab mentorship program this season allowing 13 TYSA musicians to participate in this unique and in-depth program. Ben's Fund has been supporting Northwest Sinfonietta’s annual youth concerto competition with a Young Artist Award since 2021. On haitus for the 2024-25 season, the youth concerto competition will return in our 2025-26 season.
